Fresh Start Metro Village Residential Treatment Facility OUR MISSION Our motto, “Success begins here” speaks directly to our mission. Our Mission is to provide hope, help, and healing to adolescents facing crisis in their lives. Our target population is male youth 12 – 17 years of age, designated levels 4 & 5 who have emotional and behavioral issues to include depression, chemical dependency, failing in school, lack of motivation and self-esteem issues. We believe that children and families are the integral component to making this a better world. By incorporating therapeutic services in a residential facility, utilizing and applying an interdisciplinary approach, and working in coordination with the DCBS Caseworkers, we can ensure “Success Begins Here.” Through our commitment to this mission, we will prepare these youth to be reunited with their families, whenever possible and returned to their home communities to lead responsible and productive lives. The Fresh Start group home employs a structured treatment program that makes use of program and community resources, staff training and expertise, individual treatment needs, and the unique nature and dynamics of the specific resident population to meet our mission objectives. We will provide a safe, secure environment, and be positive role models to the youth we serve. Residents of group homes have often suffered from a lack of structure and routine in their lives. Structure and routine are essential parts of our treatment environment. By providing these essentials, the Fresh Start Youth Group Home Program creates an environment of security in which positive behavioral change can occur. We will employ intensive supervision and treatment focused on the small group of youth and the families we serve. Counseling, therapy, family support systems, educational opportunities, personal development and emotional growth will be realized through the community resources and linkages we have developed. Participation in our program will empower our youth to realize their potential by teaching them to make enlightened choices, take positive risks, and accept responsibility for their actions. We will help them build self-esteem by treating them with dignity and respect and by keeping them in school. We will be character builders by helping our youth anticipate and overcome crisis in a moral fashion. We will teach our youth to build relationships through self-respect and respect for others. |
